Tran's Black Belt Spectacular

It was such fun to shoot Tran's Black Belt Spectacular event this past Saturday in Loveland, CO. What an inspirational event! The lighting wasn’t ideal (standard gym lighting); however, that was no problem for a Canon 5D Mark III + a 70-300mm L series lens + Lightroom! A huge thank you to www.LensProToGo.com for loaning me the gear. If you’re unfamiliar with them, they are the best rental camera gear company on the planet. Everyone who works at www.LensProToGo.com is a professional photographer, they ship everything in super-safe Pelican cases, they’re incredibly affordable, and the gear is all in fantastic shape because they turn it over so often.

FYI, there are a slew of photos, but please do make peruse them and check out the board breaking, which is near the bottom. It was amazing! It was also quite special that one of our instructors (Mr. Grace) had two of his daughters in the event, both getting their black belts. And take note of the amazing affection and love at the end during the "appreciation roses" ceremony, where the candidates give a rose to those who inspired them along their black belt journey. Ms. Fenton, who trains at the Boulder studio (as do I), gave me a beautiful yellow rose with red tips.

I'm so proud to be a part of the Tran's Muay Thai Kickboxing family. One day I'll take part in this ceremony, as a black belt candidate myself. But in the meantime, I’ll keep shooting it :)
