Photoshop CC: The Missing Manual + new creativeLIVE courses

Photoshop CC: The Missing Manual cover

For the last several months I've been hard at work updating our best-selling Photoshop book, Photoshop CC: The Missing Manual. I'm pleased to say it's the best book we've done yet and it includes a slew of new techniques as well as a new chapter on creating 3D text and objects. A labor of pure love, this beauty hits the book shelves early June in time for Adobe's software release. To pre-order your copy from Amazon, follow this link. I'll also be reviewing the software for Macworld Magazine so keep your eyes peeled for that review in late June. That's where you'll find my thoughts on this "realm of rental software" that we've just entered. (My two cents: A Creative Cloud subscription is brilliant for pros and is a fantastic way to experiment with more Adobe apps and thus increase their skill set, though hobbyists will spend less by purchasing Photoshop Elements instead.)

I'm also thrilled to announced a new set of classes for creativeLIVE. "Adobe Creative Apps for Beginners" runs from June 3-June 8 and features full-day classes on graphic design (by Jack Davis), InDesign (by Khara Plicanic), Illustrator (by Erica Gamet), After Effects (by Jeff Foster), Dreamweaver (by Janine Warner) and Photoshop (by me). I hope you'll tune into this incredible week of free-while-it's-live training. Please spread the word! I'll be giving away absolutely all of my exercise files as well as a slew of prizes donated by my publisher OReilly.com, my gear sponsor LensProToGo.com, Mpix.com, DesignToolsMonthly.com, and more.

On June 24 I'll be back at creativeLIVE for a full day exploring Adobe's new Creative Cloud app as well as the new features in Photoshop CC, on June 25 we'll take a Photoshop Deep Dive into Filters on June 25, and on June 26 I'll teach you every secret Iearned during my six years as iStockphoto chief evangelist in the new class, "How to Make Money Shooting Microstock."

In the meantime, my husband and I are taking a long-anticipated vacation to Italy. I'll be posting photos periodically on Facebook. Until next time, may the creative force be with you all!
