National Craft Month class sale at Craftsy!

March 09, 2016 by
National Craft Month

March is National Craft Month, and we have a lot to celebrate! It also means we have a lot to be thankful for. That’s why I’m sharing a slick way for you to be extra creative while giving back during this special month.

FYI, I’ve recorded videos for some of the biggest online training companies around—Lynda.com, KelbyOne.com, CreativeLive.com—and I believe Craftsy gives the best value to students. Why? Aside from the professional appearance of the classes and that you get downloadable files so you can follow along, there’s an ongoing Q&A between you and me for the life of the class. You can also see questions asked by others and my answers to them. In this way, you and I stay connected as you learn, which I love. I check in at least once a day, no joke. You can find my Craftsy classes here, which include two levels of portrait retouching in Photoshop, plus an exciting course on how to use Photoshop and Lightroom together:

But I also take online classes myself! The links below give you discounts on my favorite classes that feed my passion for cooking and photography. (Craftsy also offers classes on drawing, sewing, knitting, quilting, cake decorating, gardening, woodworking and lots more). Not only do you get a significant discount by using these links, you’ll be automatically entered to win a $1000 prize for the craft-focused charity of your choice. Remember, it’s important to click the links in this email, because that’s how you’ll be entered to win! This offer expires on March 13, 2016 at 11:59 pm MT, so don’t wait.

Later this month, Craftsy will select one winning student at random and notify them that they’ve won! The winner will then choose a craft-focused charity to receive the $1000 prize. It’s an easy and fulfilling way to make a difference.

Natural-Light Macro Photography
with Kathleen Clemons
You’ll feel like you’re shooting right alongside my favorite macro photographer, Kathleen Clemons. In this class she unveils her process for creating gorgeous fine-art macro images.

Basics of Digital Photography
with Rick Allred
I taught alongside Rick at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. This is an amazing class for the beginner photographer, from soup to nuts. I love Rick’s teaching style: he’s enthusiastic, approachable, and a lot of fun (trust me!). This class will give you a strong foundation to begin shooting, and it’s full of inspiration for hobbyists.

20 Essential Cooking Techniques
with Brendan McDermott
What a fantastic course! Brendan teaches you the essential skills you need to become a faster, more confident cook.

A Modern Take on the Mother Sauces
with James Peterson
I’m pretty good at cooking proteins, but sauces used to vex me. In this class, award-winning cookbook author James Peterson helps you master the five essential “mother” sauces as well as teach you to put your own creative spins on them to elevate your cooking every day.

Craftsy has a slew of other classes to choose from, but these are some of my favorites. Thank you so much for being a PhotoLesa fan, and thanks for being creative! Shop this week and celebrate the true reason we do what we do — to bring joy to ourselves and to others.
